Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Vgo ("Vgo", "we", "us") handles personal data when you use the Vgo app and website. Vgo is the data controller for the data described here — we decide what is collected and why. This page is maintained by Vgo and describes our own practices; it is not an independent certification or audit.

What we collect

• Account data — email address, display name, password credentials handled by our authentication provider, and your home city if you set one.
• Trip data — destinations, dates, budgets, travel style, interests, dietary notes, reason for travel, generated itineraries, packing lists and any notes you add.
• Spending data — the purchases, budgets, savings goals and simulated card labels you record in the wallet. Vgo does not connect to your bank and never sees real card numbers.
• Location data — while you explicitly activate live trip tracking, we store coordinate check-ins to power the departure guide and verify reward trips. Tracking is off unless you turn it on, and you can delete the trip to remove the pings.
• Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and basic usage and error logs.
• Support data — anything you send us by email.

Why we use it, and on what basis

• To provide the service (accounts, itineraries, packing, wallet, tracking, rewards) — performance of our contract with you.
• To generate trip plans with AI — trip inputs are sent to our AI model provider to produce itineraries. Performance of our contract.
• To take payment and manage subscriptions — performance of our contract and legal obligation. Payment and tax data is collected and processed by Paddle, not by us.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse — our legitimate interests.
• To fix bugs and improve the product — our legitimate interests.
• Location tracking — your consent, given each time you activate it, and withdrawable at any time.

Who we share it with

• Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles checkout, subscription management, payments, invoicing, tax compliance and refunds, and receives the data needed to do so.
• Hosting, database and email providers — the infrastructure that runs the app, stores your data and sends account emails.
• AI model providers — to generate itineraries, guides and packing lists from the trip details you enter.
• Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your trip data for advertising.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

Account, trip and wallet data is kept while your account is active. Deleting a trip removes it and its pings, packing items and expenses. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons — Paddle retains transaction records under its own schedule.

Your rights

Subject to the law where you live, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, export, restrict or stop processing your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent (for example, by turning off location tracking). Email support@tryvoyagr.app and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit, row-level database access rules so each account can only reach its own records, and restricted administrative access. No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a qualifying breach as required by law.

Cookies

Vgo uses essential cookies and local storage only — to keep you signed in and to remember basic app preferences. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Paddle sets its own cookies during checkout, which are covered by Paddle's privacy notice. You can clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time, though this will sign you out.

Children

Vgo is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
